I have not seen those pre paid credit/debit type cards before? Can you even get them in the uk? I would love to be able to use something like that on odd occasions (Security) wise they seem like a good idea...

Not sure on availability in the UK. Last time I mentioned netspend, someone else mentioned a UK variant I believe.

If you go to the ingame store, it clearly says it accepts paypal. Paypal can be set up with your bank account number and routing number.

If you're too paranoid to do that, just ask a real life friend with Visa/Mastercard/Paypal/what-have-you to pay for what you want as uh, has been suggested already.

Ok am I the only one......maybe it's just Canada......but there are "gift" cards that are essentially prepaid credit cards (issued by mastercard) that are sold in every major conveniance/drug store for low amounts ($20,50,100...) that can be used online as a credit card without ever risking any sensitive information......

Look into it.

we got similair prepaid credit cards like that in the netherlands from Wallie, but of course those aren't supported often enough or supported only via paypal and those kind of sites. but they charge extra for that....
prepaid credit cards are often from a different supplier for each country wich makes it a hassle to accept all of them for the providers ofc.

Still there quite a few country's who shun the credit card as a mass, NL being one of em.
Especially since every fricking one of us has a debit card from the banks wich we can use for most sales in europe and thanks to paypal almost everywhere.

in the end it's about if you're willing to trust paypal or credit cards and nothing more :O

but in NL we know we can trust our banks and our debit cards because of the customer support and the garantee we won't loose money, so you cant really blame us for not wanting to switch to a lesser product....

true ,i myself don't have a credit card,but have a debit card with visa electron(which is a service i believe),it works for buying stuff from the ingame store,so it can't get easier than this.U get the card when u open your account at your bank and deposit an x amount of cash,its the same card i use for an Atm or for shopping in town.

I guess the could offer paid store cards in shops, but they'd likely have to charge more than what the card actually gets. For example, charge £12 for a card with £10 of credit for the store, so they could cover the costs of actually making the cards etc.

It doesn't really matter, but it does seem slightly scandelous that some of the new addons are so expensive. The storage tabs are $10 ea., so you'll end up paying about $40 for the new ones. It is good that they gave us one for free though, at least they did that much, along with a few new bags. I do disagree with the charging for the basic makeover though xP They should have incorporated about 5 free credits or so. They should have had this blending feature long ago... And the least they could do is give a few credits to change things up the way we would have wanted in the past. As for the Major credits....Your gender should pretty much be definitive as soon as you make your character xD
As for having the credit cards...I've tried a few of them and the prepaid "gift" cards do not usually work for me... The prepaid credit cards tend to glitch out; however, the normal credit cards work easily. I tried the Vanilla Visa and Mastercard prepaid cards over the past few years, and I have never gotten either to work.

You don't have to buy these upgrades for the best in-game experience. You don't have to buy them to be competitive at any level. If you can't get them, don't. It doesn't create some sort of power creep between players that have 9 tabs and you that have 5, or between players who have had name changes and those who haven't. It's just a matter of convenience.

If it's really that big of an issue, resort to any of the other large number of methods presented in this thread for internet transactions.

in the netherlands, it costs you money per year, and you need to be 18.
but paypal works, so if you cant get an credit card, and outside US it can be hard, try paypal

But yeah, there are plenty of options -- even more than before since you can buy them from the NCsoft site (the online store didn't accept Paypal to my dismay a few years back). I didn't get my credit card 'till this year so I just asked my dad (paid him back in cash, of course).

NCsoft's side needs more servers, because the page keeps failing to load. (the store page), poorly designed store in my oppinion if you cant handle that many people at once.

Errm. . . how do you think they'll afford those servers if they are selling stuff for free?

I believe I saw one in a greetings card shop once, next to the 'cyanide laced fruit company music download store' gift cards.
